Abstract: Multi-domain networks are the core of datacenters, home and enterprise networks. The networks require independent and private control plane. Thus, these networks must be resilient, scalable as well as easily expandable. The emergence of Software Defined Networking (SDN) protocols simplifies the evolution of networks by decoupling the control plane from the data plane. In this paper, a Distributed approach in Multi-domain Controllers architecture is introduced. It interconnects heterogeneous networks to form a wide area network (WAN) while preserving the privacy of their domains. It also deals with the link failure across the domains that makes it resilient. The controller manages its own network domain and exchanges minimal information among neighbor controllers applying light weight control carrier, i.e., RabbitMQ, that reduces extra overhead. The application has been implemented on top of the RYU control platform.
