Measurement of IP Transport Parameters for IP Telephony |
This paper presents an overview of the transport Quality of Service (QoS) for Voice over IP (VoIP, or Internet Telephony) and a non-intrusive method of determining network performance parameters for voice packet flows within a VoIP call. The method allows both end-to-end performance monitoring of flows, but also inspects the transport parameters of a specific part of the network when VoIP traffic transits through it. With suggested enhancements, the method is very accurate for fault location within a specified link.
