Furnell SM
Computer Fraud & Security, Issue 3, March, pp10-15, 2007

Recent years have seen phishing become an ever-present threat to the online community. Moreover, the scale of the problem has increased dramatically. For example, findings from the Anti-Phishing Working Group indicate that 23,787 unique reports were received in December 2006, compared to 15,244 just 12 months earlier. Meanwhile, figures from Symantec suggested an 81% rise in the first half of 2006, with more than 157,000 unique messages being sent during this period.
