Proceedings of 5th Annual Postgraduate Symposium on The Convergence of Telecommunications, Networking & Broadcasting, PGNET 2004, Liverpool, UK, 28-29 June, pp147-152, 2004

Recent progress and advances in the communication technologies have introduced a new computer network technology, the Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET). This emerging technology is expected to become popular in the near future and might be used as the main tool for communication, supporting the wired network. This advancement has without doubt introduced new security concerns and for that reason, new security mechanisms have to be investigated. The aims of this project are to classify the attacks against MANET routing protocols and to develop a novel Intrusion Detection System (IDS) to detect all those intrusive activities.
