Title: Ethical Guidelines for Cyber-related Services Aimed at the Younger Generations
Author(s): Noluxolo Kortjan, Rossouw Von Solms, Johan Van Niekerk
Reference: pp205-215
Keywords: Younger generation, Internet, Ethics, Law, Unethical Behaviors, Cyber usage
Abstract: Ethics together with the law should be able to govern the tendencies of cyber users in order to create a virtual world with disciplined users. One of the major challenges in achieving such outcomes is the lack of a solid ethical base, specifically with the Younger Generation. The way in which the Internet is used by this generation not only affects them personally but also in their professional capacities. This paper argues towards and suggests a set of ethical guidelines that will assist in eradicating unethical behavior. It furthermore provides questions that a person should ask themselves, to evaluate whether or not they have applied the guidelines.
